The question we get most isn’t which systems the game has, but what you actually do when you log in for the first time. So we recorded a whole session from zero.

The run

It starts at sign-up, moves through the decision that shapes your entire playthrough — Coalition or Axios — and drops you at your faction’s base, with the station ahead and a ship that has never fired a shot.

From there, the full loop:

  • Quantum jump out to the working sector, countdown and arrival included.
  • Deploying the mining drone, which works in batches while you cover the area.
  • First combat: cannons, guided missiles and rounds landing on hull.
  • Back to the station to sell, buy and equip.
  • A new ship in the hangar.

Why it matters

That run is the game in miniature. Everything else — the war over sectors, the campaign, the Custodian bases — is built on top of this loop. If this half hour doesn’t feel good, nothing that comes later is going to fix it.
