The front no longer belongs only to ships. Five void creatures now roam the sectors, and no two of them fight alike.
Two bosses you have to find
Vorax, a winged dragon, and Xenobor, a huge insectoid, appear at random in one of the contested sectors, never right next to the guardian base or the Nexus. Nobody announces where they are: you have to go looking.
They have a boss’s size and toughness and pay between 5 and 10 Elisium, split by the damage each pilot dealt. When they fall, they return twenty minutes later on another map.
Three species in place of the Custodians
| Creature | Where | Level | How it fights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serrax | Zeta System · The Crucible | 8 · 18 | Aggressive: attacks on sight and stings up close nonstop |
| Aracnis | Earendel | 6 | Artillery: punishes from range and does not chase you |
| Brutus | Alcyone Veil | 14 | The middle ground |
Serrax is the only creature that does not wait to be provoked: you cannot cross its zone without a fight. The others keep their course and let you pass if you do not shoot them.
How to beat them
Creatures spit fireballs in their own colour and each has its own melee strike: Vorax’s Bite, Xenobor’s Sting, Serrax’s Scythe, Aracnis’s Pincer and Brutus’s Discharge. The shockwave you see marks the real reach of the strike.
They turn under the same limits as a ship, so a fast fighter can outrun a Serrax. And at 35 % health they turn around and flee. Facing away, they do not shoot: that is your moment to finish them.
One power each
Before unleashing its power, the creature holds still, charging a sphere of energy for a little over a second, and it does not attack while charging. Every power deals the same damage; what changes is how you dodge it:
- Beam (Vorax, gold): a ray that stays fixed where you were. Get off the line.
- Miasma (Xenobor, turquoise): a toxic cloud that lasts eight seconds, even after Xenobor has fallen. Move away.
- Charge (Serrax, white): a straight-line rush. Get out of the lane.
- Seismic wave (Aracnis, copper): an expanding ring. Cross it inwards; running from it costs more.
- Living arc (Brutus, magenta): a ray that latches onto your ship and hurts more the longer it holds. Pull away early to break it.
The Leviathan changes too
The Leviathan now spits green fireballs and debuts its own Beam, in acid green. Dodge it the same way as Vorax’s: off the line.
And two Custodians get new hulls: the Sentinel and the Bastion have a new silhouette, so you can tell them apart from afar.
